Rockford Housing CEO Larry Williams To Join the District of Columbia Housing Authority

Rockford, Illinois — The Rockford Housing Authority Board of Directors announced on Wednesday that CEO Dr. Larry Williams will be leaving the RHA effective December 29th of this year.

“We cannot thank Larry enough for the dedication, passion, enthusiasm and motivation he has given to develop the Workforce Development Institute for RHA. During this transition period, it is our priority to find the best individual to lead, while still maintaining a stable and effective organization,” Jerry Lumpkins, RHA Board Chairman and Bridge Rockford Alliance President, said.

Williams will be joining the District of Columbia Housing Authority.

“I want to give my deepest gratitude to all who have been supportive of the organization and of me personally: staff, board members, and, of course, our community partners,” Williams said. “The RHA Strategic Plan continues to be top priority with Orton Keyes in renovation and the next two phases of Fairgrounds on track.”

Williams said the RHA is on course to help residents on a trajectory to self-sufficiency, and is aligned to assist in making Rockford a top 25 city by 2025.

Williams took over for Ron Clewer, who left the RHA in March for the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities in Milwaukee.

The Rockford Housing Authority (RHA) is a municipal corporation established under Chapter 67 1/2 of the Illinois statutes. It is governed by a Board of five commissioners. The Rockford Housing Authority has historically served the housing needs of persons whose income is low and very low in the City of Rockford through HUD funded public and Section 8 housing.
