Stephenson County Car Chase Ends in Jo Daviess County With Arrest

Stephenson County, Illinois — It appears after a chase that ended in Jo Daviess County last night, 41-year-old Marilyn Fair of Rockford is facing a total of seven charges and citations.

According to reports, just a few minutes after 9:00 in the evening the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department received a call for assistance from police in Lena, Illinois. Officers from there had joined a pursuit that began next Stephenson County and was continuing on US Highway 20.

The report states that StopSticks were used by a Jo Daviess County deputy to disable the suspect’s vehicle just east of Woodbine.

At which point the suspect got out of the car and tried to escape on foot.

The suspect was found hiding in a pile of leaves and tree limbs, reports say. A K-9 was sent to track the fleeing driver and located her.

Fair was arrested and transported to the Stephenson County Jail on charges against her are Fleeing, Speeding, and driving without either insurance or a valid license. Other charges may be pending.
