Freeport, Illinois – Numerous reports have come in to our news desk this morning of an accident involving a carnival worker at this years Stephenson County Fair.
Sources tell us that on Saturday evening a carnival worker who was working the Speed Ride was hit by the ride, whereby the worker suffered serious head injuries. Other sources tell us the worker was transported to an area hospital by the Freeport Rural Fire Department.
Sources at the scene when it happened stated that the ride was down and one of the workers was at the top trying to fix it while another was on the ground below the ride. As the person below the ride began walking, sources tell us the ride started moving and came down and hit the man in the back of the head.
We cannot confirm the person’s condition at this time. No further information is available.

Update: Officials stated that when the accident happened the worker was conscious, however the exact condition today is unknown and has not yet been released. The below video was recorded at the scene by a fair goer.
