Freeport, Illinois — Swift Hospitality Group, Inc. (SHG) based in Freeport, Illinois is proud to share news of upcoming company expansion efforts and recent promotions.
SHG is moving forward on four new projects, including the development of a new GLō Hotel by Best Western in Rapid City, South Dakota. Construction will begin on this 79-room boutique hotel in Summer 2018.
Also on the schedule is the purchase of a Holiday Inn Express in Rantoul, IL. The 74-room hotel opened in December 2016 and will become a Swift property in Summer 2018. Two additional properties under contract in Iowa, both upscale Marriott-branded hotels, round out the SHG summer expansion.
As the Swift portfolio grows, the company is also undertaking a project at the company’s home base. After 10 years at its Forest Road location, SHG will build a new corporate headquarters. Construction is expected to begin in Fall 2018 at the new site, 1342 S. Harlem Avenue in Freeport.

We also pleased to be adding four more properties to our portfolio this summer and to be able to recognize the accomplishments of our team members with their recent promotions.”

Ty Fehlhafer has been named Vice President. Ty is responsible for the operations of a portfolio of SHG hotels. He works directly with each hotel’s management team to maximize guest satisfaction as well as profitability. Ty has also established a preferred vendor network for SHG properties, leveraging the Swift Hospitality Group portfolio to reduce costs and provide best-in-class service from each vendor. Ty has multiple years of experience in the hospitality industry, including serving as the opening General Manager at the Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Elk Grove Village, IL. Ty has also held the positions of Senior Director of Operations, Director of Guest Experience and Brand Standards, and Director of Procurement and Asset Management with Swift Hospitality Group.
Sam Cannon has been named Director of Operations/Revenue Management. Sam oversees SHG’s South Dakota properties from his office in Rapid City, South Dakota. He works with each hotel’s management team to develop and implement strategies to help them realize their maximum revenue potential. Sam has over two decades of hotel management experience and has opened and managed two properties currently in Swift’s portfolio. With a background in various markets and properties ranging from limited service hotels to full-service, historic, and boutique hotels, Sam leverages his experience to assist each property in identifying opportunities for revenue growth. Sam joined SHG in the Fall of 2011 and is a two time recipient of General Manager of the Year.
Maggie Siebert has been named Office Manager. She is responsible for a wide variety of jobs that include general bookkeeping, analysis of financial reports, and management of the day-to-day functions in the SHG corporate office. Maggie comes to the company with multiple years in the hospitality field, having started with Swift Hospitality Group in January 2011 at the Country Inn & Suites in Freeport, IL as a Front Desk Agent and then as Assistant General Manager. Maggie is the proud recipient of the 2013 Front Desk Agent of the Year and the 2014 Assistant General Manager of the Year awards.
Jasmin Marcus has been named Director of Revenue Management. Jasmin is responsible for the development and implementation of sales, marketing, and revenue strategy for a portfolio of SHG hotels. She is also responsible for training and developing the sales teams at all Swift hotels. Jasmin is certified in revenue management from Cornell University and is a Marriott certified revenue manager. With experience at upscale, historic, extended stay, and limited service hotels across the country, Jasmin is able to create value and drive performance. Her brand experience includes Carlson, Marriott, IHG, and Choice. Jasmin joined SHG in the Fall of 2011 and is a two-time recipient of the Director of Sales of the Year award. Jasmin’s background in sales and passion for analytics and revenue strategy make her a unique asset to the Swift Hospitality Group team.
In addition, Kelly Haase has joined SHG as Administrative Assistant. Kelly joined the Swift Hospitality team in 2018 and is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Swift Hospitality Group staff and properties. Kelly has a diverse background which includes many years in both the administrative and customer service fields.
