Freeport, Illinois — July 8, 2017 — It was a perfect day for two infamous small town teams to battle it out in a game of baseball in Freeport, Illinois today. A match-up that takes place annually in Freeport, where Black Earth, Wisconsin and their Mini Cardinals baseball team head to Freeport to take on Freeport’s Mini Cubs in a Saturday baseball game.
The Mini-Cubs are an 8 and under team out of Freeport, Illinois and the the Mini-Cardinals are an 8 and under team from Black Earth, WI.
Among the game day events, concessions were provided by local Freeport Kiwanis club and Com Ed was on hand giving out FREE ice cream during the game.
Little Cubs Field is an exciting destination in Freeport, Illinois and is a nearly exact duplicate of the Cubs’ Wrigley Field — only on a much smaller scale. Little Cubs Field provides a legendary hometown baseball field for people of all ages to enjoy on of America’s most passionate pastimes.
Black Earth, Wisconsin has a population of around 1,338 people and is famous for it’s Shoe Box store and for Rookies, which is an authentic regulation Wiffle Ball field legendary for miles around.
