UPDATE: Cubs World Series Trophy In Freeport – Date Change

Freeport, Illinois — Tens of thousands of people have heard the news of the 2016 Chicago Cubs World Series trophy coming to Freeport.

It was previously announced that the World Series Trophy would make a stop in Freeport as part of the Cubs Midwestern World Series Trophy Tour on Monday January 9th, 2017.  That date is now changed.

Denny Garkey, of Little Cubs Field, told us the Cubs organization had called him and suggested that perhaps Monday wasn’t the best day. They offered to reschedule to Sunday, January 8th, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. which would allow more people the chance to see the Cubs World Series Trophy.

On Sunday, January 8th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. then, those who attend will meet at the Masonic Temple in Freeport, Illinois.

Denny said attendees will be able to use their own cameras and smart phones to take pictures, however there will be a photographer on hand to take photos if attendees don’t have access to a camera. (Correction: Photographer will take a photo with your camera if you don’t have anyone to take the photo for you.)

The Cubs said they will NOT be taking photos themselves, nor posting them on the Chicago Cubs website.

Regarding photos, attendees are allowed one (1) picture with one (1) device per each group.

If your group has five people in it, you will all be able to have your photo taken once, with one device as there won’t be time for multiple photos with multiple people in a given group.

Freeport Photography Club will help with the photos and those who do not take their own picture Denny says, will be able to leave with the photo that day. There will be no charge to have your individual or small group photo taken.

People arriving at the Masonic Temple on Sunday, January 8th, 2017 will meet in the auditorium and will be seated by sections.

Denny said there will be a time to talk with friends and reminisce the Cubs season. A big screen will also be on hand which will play the final Cubs World Series victory game, among other Cubs or Little Cubs Field related memories.

Again, the date the 2016 Chicago Cubs World Series Trophy is coming to Freeport, is on Sunday, January 8th, 2017 between the times of 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Masonic Temple in Downtown Freeport. Their address is 305 W Stephenson Street.

The visit to Freeport is courtesy of Little Cubs Field and the Chicago Cubs.

Little Cubs Field wishes to thank the Chicago Cubs and the people who have supported Little Cubs Field over the years for this historic event.

Just found out Tim Connors will be our Master of Ceremonies for the rally that will be in progress that day in the Masonic Temple auditorium, for fans waiting to get their photos. One explanation–We want everyone to bring their own cameras. We will not have a professional photographer on hand to take any special photos, but the Camera Club will use your own camera to take the photo, so you can leave with the photo, in your own device. If you do not have a camera, borrow one, please. We will be trying to move each group out within 15 seconds, to insure we have enough time for everyone attending, but there is no guarantee, as the Cubs decide when they have to go to the next venue that day.
